The problem
You've arrived to a boat that wasn't ready.
We've all been there.
You book months in advance. You pack carefully. You brief the crew. Then you arrive at the marina and discover the engine cuts out above 2,000 rpm, the port head is blocked, and the main sail track is seized — none of which was mentioned in any listing.
Charter companies have every incentive to minimise reported issues. Listing photos are taken once. Reviews on booking platforms rate the holiday, not the boat.
CharterWise is built specifically for the handover moment: the check-in report, filed by the sailor who just stepped off.
How it works
The charter journey, finally tracked.
Discover
Search boats and read community check-in reports before you book. Every boat profile shows a condition assessment — open issues by system, photos from real charterers, and whether flagged problems have been fixed.
Check in
At handover, walk through 5 systems — safety, rigging, engine, hull, interior. Flag issues, attach photos. Your check-in report updates the boat's condition assessment immediately and is visible to every future charterer.
Review
At the end of your charter, leave a structured review with photos and category ratings. Your contribution — including the photos you took aboard — stays in the community record for the next sailor.

Condition Assessment
See the boat's real condition before you board.
Every boat profile shows a condition assessment built from community check-in reports — open issues by system and photos from real charterers, all before you sign the contract. And at check-in, issues flagged by the previous sailor surface automatically in your report, so nothing slips through at handover.

Check-in Report
The handover moment, recorded.
File your check-in before you cast off. Walk through five systems, flag what you find, and attach photos directly to each issue. Your report is timestamped, attached to the boat's permanent record, and visible to the next sailor.
Reviews
Reviews that actually cover what matters.
Category ratings for sails, engine, navigation gear, safety equipment, and comfort — from sailors who were actually aboard. Community photos attached to the systems that matter, not just the listing shots taken once at delivery. The most honest picture of a charter boat you'll find anywhere.

FAQ
Common questions
Is CharterWise free? ▾
Yes — completely free. No subscription, no in-app purchases.
Why did you create CharterWise? ▾
I've chartered many boats across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and beyond. Every single time, I arrived hoping for context about the boat's true condition — and almost never had it. I'd step on board to discover seized gear, engine issues, or safety equipment that wasn't ready. This app is built specifically for that moment. I wanted to create a community-sourced record so the next sailor — and the next — has the clarity I didn't.
What boats are in the database? ▾
Primarily Mediterranean and Adriatic — Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Italy. Coverage grows with every pick-up report filed.
How do I know reports are real? ▾
Check-in reports are time-gated to your charter window — you can only file one within a day of your charter start date. Each report is tied to a verified charter plan.
I'm a charter company — is this bad for my fleet? ▾
Only if your fleet isn't maintained. Companies with well-kept boats will be rewarded in the data. Issues that get fixed improve the condition score immediately.
When is Android available? ▾
Soon. Sign up for the waitlist above and you'll be the first to know.
