About
Built by a sailor who wanted better intel.
I'm Clément, a 40-year-old based in London with a background in technology and operations. Over the past decade, I've worked at Google and Meta in Operations and Customer Support — roles that taught me how to listen to users, spot systemic problems, and build solutions that actually work.
Outside of work, I'm a sailor. I've chartered boats regularly across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and beyond with friends and family. And each time, I noticed the same thing: arriving at the marina without clear visibility into what's actually working on the boat — the water maker, navigation systems, galley equipment, safety gear. Charter listings show marketing photos, but sailors need practical intel about condition and maintenance.
Charter companies and boat owners want to maintain their fleets well. Charterers want to know what they're stepping into. The missing piece is a shared, real-time record — a place where honest condition reports and experience matter, where transparency builds trust.
CharterWise exists because those two parts of my life — technology and sailing — finally intersected. I wanted to build something that serves both sides: charterers who deserve clarity, and boat owners who want to be rewarded for maintaining their fleets.
The app is built on a simple principle: sailors know their boats best. By capturing honest pick-up reports and reviews from the people who actually step aboard, we create a permanent, crowdsourced condition record. Not a marketing tool. Not a vibe score. A real, evolving picture of every boat's actual state.
If you're a charterer looking for clarity, or a boat owner committed to transparency, I'd love to hear from you. This is just the beginning.
